Art of the Brick: DC Superheroes coming to London in 2017

World renowned LEGO artist Nathan Sawaya is bringing his latest exhibition, Art of the Brick: DC Superheroes, to the UK in 2017 when it opens at London’s South Bank on March 1. The exhibition recently came to the end of its initial run at the Powerhouse Museum, Sydney, where it enjoyed an extended run due to popular demand.

It is the LEGO Certified Professional’s second travelling exhibition, following the success of The Art of the Brick, which was based entirely on Sawaya’s original works.

In an interview about the project, the LEGO artist told Blocks magazine last year:

‘I was looking to do a new exhibition focusing on themes of good and evil, which led me to thoughts of heroes and villains. That led me to the pages of comic books. Several years ago I had been asked to create a piece of artwork for DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. as part of their We Can Be Heroes campaign. It made sense to discuss working with them again for this new exhibition.’

The collection of  models and sculptures, crafted from LEGO bricks and inspired by the colourful characters of DC Comics, will be on display from March 1 until September 4, 2017.

Tickets go on sale December 15 at 10am.
