December 7 – Blade Wing

The Blade Wing is the prototype B-wing starfighter that appeared in Star Wars Rebels. Pilot tested by Hera Syndulla, this ship was absolute state of the art.

The cockpit is a 1×1 brick with studs on 4 sides, with tiles on 2 sides, a 2×2 cone on one side and a 2×2 dome on the opposite side. Stick a cheese wedge on top and a 1×1 plate underneath.

The engine section is easier to build from the top down. Start with a 2×2 jumper plate and attach 2x SNOT plates underneath. Put the smaller SNOT plate onto the 1×2 textured brick, and stick this underneath. Attach the wedge grilles on to another SNOT plate and stick this under too. The cones can then be connected to the back, and the sloped bricks on either side. The cockpit attaches to the jumper plate.

The wings are made of just four parts. A 1×2 plate with vertical clip sticks on to the front of a small SNOT plate. A 1×2 plate with bar connects to the clip and a wedge plate completes the wing. Remember to use wedge plates angled in opposite directions for each side.

The lower body is simply layered plates and tiles. The middle layer is a 2×4 plate, with a 1×2 below and a wedge plate below that. The top layer holds them all together. Starting from the top is a small SNOT plate, then along the left hand side are a 1×2 and 1×4 plate, but you could use a 1×6 if you have it. The 1×4 tile connects down the right side, the 1×2 tiles sticks on to the SNOT plate, and the 1×1 plate with lantern attaches underneath the bottom end.

Connect the wings’ SNOT plates to the back of the lower body section. Then stick this build into the bottom of the engine build.

The modern B-wing has actually been used in many bright and unusual colour combinations throughout the wider universe. What colours would you choose?
