LEGO Dimensions is officially over

After word came out suggesting that the recently released LEGO Dimensions packs would prove to be the last, the news has now been officially confirmed.

A statement on the LEGO Dimensions Twitter account confirms the news that the LEGO toys to life venture has reached its end.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, TT Games and The LEGO Group would like to thank fans for their ongoing support of LEGO Dimensions. After careful consideration, we will not be producing new expansions packs for the game beyond what is now available. We will continue to provide ongoing server and customer support for all LEGO Dimensions packs. Existing packs will continue to work interchangeably and continue to be available for purchase.

LEGO Dimensions arrived late to the toys to life party, with a high entry price compared to the competition. After Disney Infinity was shuttered, industry analysts predicted that it was only a matter of time before LEGO Dimensions followed suit.

Warner Bros. and TT Games will of course continue to release LEGO video games, such as the recently released The LEGO NINJAGO Movie Video Game and the upcoming LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2.
