LEGO EV3 Egg Decorator

Our good friend behind the new LEGO Ideas Maze has come up trumps again.I saw this a few days ago but saved it as I felt it was better to show at Easter.  I’m speaking of none other then Jason Alleman of YouTube channel JK Brickworks has shared another video of his own egg decorating machine made from a LEGO Mindstorms EV3 kit.

With Easter just around the corner I thought it would be a great time to dust off my EV3 and build an egg decorating robot,” Alleman wrote on his website.

His model uses the motorized Lego set to rotate the egg, allowing the machine to draw up to seven different patterns using sharpie.

Alleman shared his patterns and detailed instructions on how to properly operate the machine on his website.

Operating the EV Egg Bot is pretty straight forward,” he wrote. “Once the program is running, you can use the left and right buttons on the EV3 unit to scroll through the available patterns and select the center button to ‘print’ it.”
