LEGO Star Wars 75192 Millennium Falcon not released today

Today was the intended launch date for LEGO Star Wars 75192 Millennium Falcon, but the hotly anticipated set sold out during the VIP early release period.

Fans have been waiting for a new LEGO Ultimate Collector Series edition of the iconic Star Wars space craft since 10179 was retired. The updated version, 75192 Millennium Falcon, was launched for LEGO VIP customers on September 14 but sold out around the world within hours.

The most recent update from LEGO customer service warned fans that only ‘very limited quantities’ would be available for the rest of the year, acknowledging that it would not be released today as planned. Those looking for the set should instead be patient and keep the product page bookmarked.

This level of fan desire for a high end set has never been seen before, nor has forecasting from the LEGO Group proven to be so inadequate – not even the recent under supplied 21309 NASA Apollo Saturn V sold out so quickly. Based on the update e-mailed out to fans, most will be waiting until 2018 to own this spectacular LEGO Star Wars model.
