LEGO Star Wars, City and Friends Advent Calendars – Day 24

Each morning leading up to Christmas day, Brick Fanatics is cracking open all three official LEGO advent calendars to see what goodies are found within

Christmas is approaching and to celebrate the festive season, Brick Fanatics is opening up the LEGO advent calendars each day before sharing our thoughts on what is found behind the doors. Feel free to join us and share your own comments when opening up those advent calendar doors – whether you opted for Star Wars, City or Friends. You can do so on FacebookTwitter or underneath this very feature.

75184 Star Wars: Santa BB-8

What the heck? The only reason some of us buy the LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar is the exclusive Christmas themed minifigure that always comes in the last window. A standard BB-8 wearing a Santa hat does not cut it, this really feels like a cop out. Perhaps the lack of further McQuarrie greetings cards to keep mining for inspiration left the designers lost for ideas.

60155 City: Santa

No surprise here. As has been the case in recent years, Santa Claus is exquisitely detailed and perfectly executed. For those for who this is their first calendar, he will make an excellent treat. For those who have ten already, take this year’s and make a Santa Batman from The LEGO Batman Movie.

41326 Friends: Santa Snowman

Every year I hope that we are going to get a Santa mini-doll, and every year I am disappointed – this time especially so. A Santa snowman is kind of weak. LEGO Friends calendars have struggled to stick the landing due to not being able to directly copy the City calendar and include old Saint Nick. Here is hoping a Father Christmas mini-doll will arrive next year.
