The LEGO Adventure Book, Vol. 3 review

We’ve already reviewed the third book in the art of LEGO series, we now catch up with former LEGO designer Megs and her trusty friend Brickbot in the third volume of her LEGO Adventure Book and our first review on the new site. This time its Robots, planes, cities and more. The book has over 150 models in it and 40 brick by brick break downs. Again it’s been published by No Starch Press. Read on to see what I think about the latest volume which is due for publication on 25th of September her in the UK.

The review

The good thing about this book is it same dimensions/design of the previoud two titles, this time with a yellow colour theme on the cover. Again it is a hardback book. This volume is spread over 10 chapters with each chapter a different destination. First up is the set up for the story in the book and then we get instructions to build some giant LEGO bricks, with parts list and simple to follow instructions. It is a great icebreaker for the book.

Without spoiling the story we then head off to me other builders, links to their real life profiles and while following the story we get to take a look at their impressive creations. I love how the stroy goes from builder to builder. This means the book not only appeals to AFOLS who want to be inspired by other builders but to also younger fans who want a story to follow. Megs has stuck to the winning formula and despite this being the third volume it still feels fresh and interesting. The builds are better then ever with cchance to build a dutch house. so if you are into modulars this build is very inspiring.

We even get to visit Peter Reid in the green space suits!!!and instructions to build Patches 2.0 which would go well with the exo-suit. There are loads of models, the classic vehicles are ace but lack the plans 🙁 But we get to build a fab little funfair ride with motor for power functions. As you can see the books is packed with loads of inspiration from a wide range of builders. The story is fantastic and it follows on from the previous books and without spoilinng it too much it is opend for the adventure to continue in future books!

I was skeptical when I heard a third book was coming but the story was better this time round and the builds are better and personally found more inspiring and more likely to actually attempt. Megs has gotten another best seller on her hands. I recommend it if you have the first two volumes. If you have not got them I suggest getting volume 1 before considering other volumes.
