The LEGO Batman Movie slips to number nine spot in US

The LEGO Batman Movie is nearing the end of its theatrical run in the USA, where the animated movie sits in ninth place. It is impressive staying power for a movie that has been in cinemas for almost two months, showing the power of the good word of mouth and positive critical reaction.

This makes the film’s current domestic total $170,841,252 according to Box Office Mojo, with another $121,700,000 taken outside of North America. It makes it highly unlikely that the spin-off will match the final box office achieved by The LEGO Movie, which took $257,760,692 in the USA alone.

Additional sets based on The LEGO Batman Movie will be released as  part of the LEGO Group’s Summer launch.

The LEGO Batman Movie is now on general release. The LEGO Batman Movie range of LEGO sets are currently available to buy at shop.LEGO.com.
